Bourbon Boys Pick The SEC Week XIII – Early Edition

Cuzzin’ Bailey

Well, after taking it on the chin the past couple of weeks, this Bourbon Boy is looking to regain the league this week and show all you bitchasses that I am one hell of a picker against spreads. I am looking forward to the Gators continuing the trend of kicking the shit out of the Noles each year. This time, while the game is in Tally, the Gators should be able to take care of business as we are the better team, and by that I mean sure we make mistakes, but we play through them. Anyways, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you…I hope you get as drunk as I do …

Gobble Gobble sports fans…once again the BCS is a mess, and there are several 1-loss teams attempting to plead their case for entry. While the thought of a Michigan-OSU rematch makes me sick, I quote Charlie Weis, “you can’t complain if you have a blemish.” Our blemish may be prettier than some of the others, but it is a blemish nonetheless, and if you give ABCESPNDISNEY the opportunity to hype up the Big 10, they most certainly will. I fully envision a huge week for yours truly as I stake claim to the Bourbon Boys picks championship!

MMMMM…Turkey Day…my favorite day of the year. And we get to watch the Bucs kick some Dallas ass. Lots to be thankful for. Just got done watching Rudy. Yeah, I wish everyone played like that. Makes you not hate ND so much. Happy Thanksgiving.

Boston College at Miami (+4.5), 7:30

CB

Well…I don’t know what to say. The Canes lost to Virginia of all teams and I mean the Cavs just suck … Now the Canes are home dogs to BC. Random thought here, I have to wonder if they were just looking for an excuse to fold … and losing a great player like Pata in such awful circumstances was the last straw. Anyways, I like BC in this game...they have a lot riding on this game, with a Wake loss they can win to clinch the Atlantic Division (I think) … but if they lose this … they are all but out of contention. Miami has nothing going for them, and historically, that does not bode well for this school…

There should be about 13,000 people on hand for the 22nd anniversary of the Hail Mary. Although I could be wrong, maybe a ton of locals will attend. After all, Miami’s zeitgeist seems to be one of malediction. From the drivers on the road, to the servers in the restaurants, to the douchebag legal profs (Froomkin), it seems to be an area completely devoid of thanks and goodwill. Perhaps they will spurn this lovely holiday and watch a bunch of Jesuits from Beantown demolish their once-proud football team.

It’s fitting that Miami gets to end its season so early. Coker will no doubt be fired after they get mauled by a vastly less talented, better coached team. But what will Cane fan do when they don’t have the jack to pay anyone decent. Let me guess…not show up at the games. But….they already do that anyway.

LSU at Arkansas (+1), 2:30

CB

How do you like the Western Division Champion Razorbacks being home dogs at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock? That blows more than one of the Clinton floozies. I know that the Tigers are tough but I think the only way they win this game is if Arkansas lays an egg in preparation for the SEC Championship game next week. Oh shit … that actually might happen, but then again I think the ‘Backs are still clinging to a tiny hope that they could play in the National Championship game…kind of like the Gators … Ark has to win this game to keep hope alive, but a tiny injury to McFadden and devastating loss would suit me just fine…

Well…we need Arkansas to win so that when we knock them off they are ranked as highly as possible. Unfortunately, I feel like Nutt’s 1993 Alabama/David Palmer attack will not work against LSU and their angry front 7. However, LSU seems to have a knack for making mistakes in big games, most notably JarJar. It will take a few of those and a raucous crowd to keep the Hogs undefeated in SEC play.

Overachievers vs. underachievers. I base this game on one maxim: McFadden plays well in big games and JarJar does not.
