Bourbon Boys Pick The SEC Week VII

October 15, 2009

Cincinnati at USF (+3), 7:30
EGM
The Big East showdown of the year...until one of these teams plays West Virginia or Pitt. Just thinking about those four teams makes me realize how the Big East is superior to the ACC.

Cincy has two likely first round picks in Tony Pike and Mardy Gilyard. Usf has two future NFL defensive ends in George Selvie and Jason Pierre Paul. Other than those players and USF's averagish frosh qb there isn't much to say about these teams. I imagine that USF will have difficulty running and throwing the football just because offense isn’t their “thing.” Perhaps Jim Leavitt has yet to headbutt a concrete wall enough times to figure out “offense.” Something tells me it doesn’t work that way anways. Meanwhile, despite USF ineptitude in the offensive arts, I’m betting they’ll get a defensive score to keep this one close until the fourth quarter. Cincy had big trouble with Va Tech’s defense last year and I’m sure USF will have watched those tapes. Unfortunately, they don’t have the same caliber of players to execute that game pla
